We are back in business!

After some time with no activity in the Software Engineering Special Interest Group (SIG) we are back in business! We are resuming with a meeting on wed. 8/11 12:00-13:00 (AuC/HiA room 228) with the usual option of joining us for lunch in the employee restaurant at AuC from 11:30-12:00. The topic of the next meeting will be future technology trends - are we on the right track? We will use some sources such as the Gartner emerging technology radar to guide the discussion. Based on the discussion we will identify topics and make a tentative plan for meetings in 2007.

Some useful links to prepare the discussion:

For the meeting in December (date not set yet) we are planning to discuss Web 2.0 on mobile devices. Web 2.0 (ajax++) is exiting stuff and we see that it is stepping into mobile devices as well, which opens up for many exciting possibilities but also challenges. There is expertise on the topic in the neighborhood, with Ericsson and auSystems (formerly Teleca), and we will try to recruit some speakers to guide the discussion. We are also trying to get someone from Opera to talk about their Opera Platform but that might be hard on such a short notice.
